35MM Print Screening of Hal Hartley’s “Amateur” Saturday Night at Facets Night School

Julian Antos, co-founder of The Northwest Chicago Film Society, presents his own 35mm print of Amateur by Hal Hartley this Saturday night along with his lecture, “Between Trashy Blockbusters and Interminable Art-House Pictures.”  It’s great to see guys and gals here in Chicago like Julian Antos, Becca Hall, Michael Phillips Jr. and Joe Rubin give a lot of attention to film prints and their exhibitions. As the ubiquity of DVD, Blu-Ray and streaming continues unabated, it’s important to try and catch these movies in their original forms as much as possible. I mean, because really…when will you see Amateur from a film print again?

Before the lecture, of course, will be Chapter 7 of Sisters of No Mercy 3D presented and filmed live before your very eyes! Got a little backstory for you about the making of this latest chapter in the next blog post.
