TUGM Kicks Off Newest Facets Night School Session

Mark your calendars, especially if you are in Chicago. Facets Night School returns with eight weeks of “reel” people and events goodness starting at midnight.

I’m proud to start the proceedings with one of the most insane, unintentionally hilarious exploitation movies ever made.  Amin: The Rise and Fall tries to tell the story of the craziness that was the reign of Idi Amin Dada, President of Uganda from 1971-1979.  Too brutal and sensational for average moviegoers, this was exactly the type of fodder for the 42nd Street grindhouse crowd.

Thus, my lecture title: “Idi’s Eye Scream: The 42nd Street Viewing Experience of Amin: The Rise and Fall.”

My lecture will be recorded for a future episode of Cinematrocities. Also, I’m working on a possible webcast via UStream. I will keep you updated.

If you are in Chicago and wish to stop by to watch this truly amazing film, latch onto the Facebook page. If you become a member of Facets, you get in FREE. All attendees get free ice cream samples (Edy’s, of course).
